The regular season of the RGBL ended with the game between “Dragons” and “Wolfs” teams on Sunday. The outcome of the match did not affect the standings, so there was only one intrigue – will the “Wolfs” manage to achieve the first win of the season and at the same time record the first loss to the “Dragons”?
However, the intrigue quickly disappeared and as the first minutes showed “Dragons” were not inclined to give up the victory. After a strong 15:5 start, the dragons slowed down a bit at the end of the quarter but maintained a fragile lead with a score of 21:15. In the first minutes of the second quarter “Wolfs” came close to the opponents with just one shot difference 23:21. But as if the “Dragons” men had woken up, they started to run to fast break attacks, accurate three-point shots hit the net one after another and the teams went to half time break “Dragons” leading 48:27.
After the break the view on the court did not change, another scoring run lost by “Wolfs” 2:13 and the difference between the teams exceeded 30 points. Even after accumulating a destroying lead, “Dragons” did not stop and the final result announced a devastating loss for “Wolfs” with the result 91:51. It is interesting that these two teams will face each other in the first semi-final of the RGBL on Sunday. Will “Wolfs” be able to resist more seriously, or will “Dragons” make it to the finals without experiencing the bitterness of defeat? We will find out the answers Sunday coming, the game starts at 12:30pm in the Stanground Academy.
